I watched the Victoria Secret Fashion show of 2015 and every year i say ‘wow’! This year was definitely no exception!
On 10th November in New York, with 44 Angels & models & 34 wings – the scene was certainly set and handled by the team at Victoria’s Secret.
Selena Gomez, The Weeknd & Ellie Goulding provided a stellar musical lineup and really set the scene for the runway.
With six themes and seventy five looks, this is quite a production and not just designing and making the clothes.
The themes this year were:
- Boho Psychedelic – Live wild & free with peace, love & eclectic designs.
- Portrait of an Angel – Fall for a Victorian romance with ethereal details.
- Exotic Butterflies – Flutter in shimmery lace & a kaleidoscope of colors.
- Ice Angels – Indulge your inner snow princess in luxe winter-whites.
- Fireworks – Watch sparks fly with vibrant hues & daring cutouts.
- Pink USA – Celebrate American icons in bright, bold shapes.
Jewellery for the event was Courtesy of Eddie Borgo.
My favorite looks from each range were:
The Fantasy Bra (worth $2 Million) was awarded to the stunning Lily Aldridge!
The full cast listing for 2015 is as follows:
Adriana Lima, Alessandra Ambrosio, Behati Prinsloo, Candice Swanepoel, Lily Aldridge, Elsa Hosk, Jac Jagaciak, Jasmine Tookes, Kate Grigorieva, Lais Ribeiro, Martha Hunt, Romee Strijd, Sara Sampaio, Stella Maxwell and Taylor Hill.
In last year’s television special, there was a little more about the design aspect and exactly what goes into making the clothes, wings and props for the entire show. Unfortunately this year’s special didn’t show much of the background of it all, however did focus on the newer models first impressions and also the hard work and fitness that goes into the preparation for them as individuals and as part of the group.
It was also a time for Victoria Secret to showcase their sportswear range, where a major focus was around how the girls get ready leading up to the show and the amount of effort in their exercise regime, which was nice to acknowledge seeing the work they put into their bodies! The overall ‘Train like an Angel’ campaign seemed to be a great highlight to the show to promote the health and fitness aspect to the overall brand of Victoria Secret and again diversify themselves as ‘not just a lingerie brand’.
I was thrilled again to watch this show and be alongside all of the social media for this event as a viewer and blogger. Victoria Secret really are a brand who can subtly reinvent themselves bit by bit each year and continue making their fashion show the main event of the year!
Pretty sure my boyfriend enjoyed helping me scope out this event too..! =)
Would love to know what you thought of the show this year too!
